Important Update Regarding Payment at Your Appointment
We hope this message finds you well, and that you are having a happy new year so far! We are writing to share an update regarding our office billing policies for your upcoming appointments.
Beginning in 2026, your expected patient responsibility (EPR) will be collected at the time of your appointment. This amount typically ranges from $10 to $100 and is determined in advance based on your individual insurance benefits.
Since your EPR amount is determined by your insurance benefits, if your plan includes a copay for Primary Care appointment, the EPR will be your copay amount. If your deductible applies to your Primary Care visits, or if your plan includes a coinsurance responsibility, your EPR may vary based on the content of each appointment. If you are seeing us for a procedure, your EPR may be different for that procedure than it would be for a regular Primary Care visit.
All coverages vary from plan to plan, and so costs may have changed if your plan changed in the new year, and will change each time you switch to a new insurance plan.
For questions about your benefits, coverage, deductible, or anticipated costs, we recommend contacting your insurance company directly using the Member Services phone number on the back of your insurance card.
For e-visits or telehealth appointments, if payment has not been completed through your patient portal prior to the start of your appointment, your provider may request payment at the time of the visit.
After your appointment, we will submit the claim to your insurance company on your behalf. Any payment collected will be applied toward your copayment, coinsurance, deductible, or other patient responsibility as determined by your insurance once the claim has been processed. Please note that this EPR payment may not cover your entire balance - especially if your deductible applies - as full patient responsibility is ultimately determined by your insurance. Any remaining balance will be available for payment through your patient portal.
You will have 30 days to pay remaining balances under $200 in full. For balances over $200, you will have 60 days to pay. We understand financial responsibility for your appointment can be complex, so if you have any concerns or questions about your balance, please don’t hesitate to reach out via call, text, or email.
If we do not hear from you regarding your balance within the allotted timeframe, we reserve the right to cancel future appointments.
