Primary Care

We provide a variety of primary care services! We provide the following services:

We provide primary care from a neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, and Health at Every Size (HAES) framework. We have medical equipment and supplies to provide access for people in larger bodies.

Chronic Illness

We welcome patients with chronic illness or other medical complexity and enjoy collaborating with each person to explore diagnoses and treatment plans. The conditions we treat include:

We do not provide chronic opioid therapy for chronic pain, but we do have significant experience with non-opioid treatments that can reduce pain and improve quality of life.

There are certain conditions we do not treat alone, but are happy to work with your specialist as a part of a team in your care. These conditions include coronary artery disease, type 1 diabetes, heart failure, autoimmune conditions (multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, etc.)  and other conditions. If you are not sure if your condition is within our ability to treat alone, please contact the office and we will happily tell you.

We are happy to help with work accommodations, FMLA, or other paperwork that can make your life more accessible for our established patients.

Gender-Affirming Care

We provide gender-affirming hormone therapy for people ages 18 and older. We used an informed consent model of care.

We prescribe the following medications:

We provide referrals and letters of support for gender-affirming surgery. We provide letters of medical necessity for electrolysis for gender-affirming surgery.  We partner with Quest Diagnostics for monitoring of hormone levels.

For children under age 18, we provide referrals to other providers who can prescribe puberty blocking medications and hormones. We do provide affirming primary care for children under age 18.

For mental health conditions we treat the following:

We do offer stimulant medication for ADHD but require supporting documentation prior to starting medication such as notes from a past therapist, psychological evaluation, or notes from a past psychiatrist or primary care provider.

We are happy to help you find mental health services in the community including a therapist,  intensive outpatient program, eating disorder treatment, substance use treatment, or residential treatment options. We also have local referrals for transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and ketamine treatment for individuals with treatment-resistant depression.

Sick & Injury Visits

For  sick and injury visits, we treat the following conditions:

If you believe you may have a fracture, we recommend going to a local urgent care that has on-site x-ray for evaluation. If you have severe abdominal pain, feel like you are going to pass out, have severe shortness of breath, feel like you are having a heart attack or chest pain, feel like you are having a stroke, or other life-threatening symptoms, please go to your local emergency department immediately.

We can provide work notes for sick visits when needed so you can focus on your healing.

Also, given we are only in the office two days per week, you may need to go to your local urgent care for prompt treatment of conditions we could otherwise treat in office.
